Brighton Pier
Most British people know about this place. For me, it was like a haven. I often think of Brighton. This is probably one of these places where I have been the happiest in my life.
It was a warm weekend under the sun. Great walk on the seaside. Stopover in a bar on the beach. Fun times in the amusement park on a pier. And that one...
This pier is like blasted.
Closed for security reasons in 1975, it was supposed to be renovated but wasn’t at the end. Unfortunately in 2002, a storm destroyed the footbridge that linked it to the shore. In 2003 a fire destroyed the major part of the pier. In 2004 the wind destroyed what was remaining as a building. I took this picture in 2012. Since then, another storm damaged it once again. The view here is now real no more.
This picture becomes of real interest, because of the focus on the damages of weather. It is a funny thing that in French weather and time are the same word "temps". Here actually, Time and Weather brought together this pier to a new life, less useful, more romantic.
